Can Lithium Batteries Handle a Military Truck?

The Pinzgauer would not start because the lead acid batteries failed to provide enough current. I tested them on a charger but they still dropped voltage under load. The old units are completely ruined.

I swapped in two lithium batteries rated for 1300 cold cranking amps. They are lighter and have low voltage protection. The terminals were reversed so I had to extend one cable.

The engine cranked quickly and started right away. The alternator charged the new units effectively. This setup works well for my garage cars that only run on nice days.
